Harry James Potter
PERSONALITY Harry Potter is a very fun and positive person - he plays pranks on people around him, especially the Slytherins, but at the end of the day when he needs to be, he will be very serious about things. Especially when it comes to the well-being of his mother or friend - or people who are like family to him of course. He is fiercely loyal and becomes very upset when someone betrays another - even when it comes down to someone swearing loyalty to Voldemort and then turning their back on them because they swore their loyalty, they should stick by it. He hates liars most of all, and of course those who judge people based on blood or anything else they can't control, such as being a squib or werewolf or metamorphagus. He is insanely brave, though he does have a brain and will tend to watch from the sidelines until the moment is just right to swoop in - he doesn't want to die after all and he's not quite as rash as one might think he would be. However, Harry is also very hot-tempered and is prone to fights, especially with those he dislikes, but also those he considers friends. He blows up disloyalty in his eyes, even without knowing the full story. Of course, afterwards if it turns out he understood wrong, he will apologize, though he seems to be fairly stubborn and prideful so getting him to admit he's wrong is the hard part. Outspoken and brave, Harry is willing to sacrifice his life for his friends if the situation is called upon, while also being a loud 'paladin' type. He will defend his friends until his dying breath and his values. However, he is also fairly kind when it comes to getting to know Harry. He's highly empathetic which ends up triggering intense emotions when someone or something is getting hurt. He just can't stand watching because he can almost taste the pain the other is going through. Therefore he will do everything in his power to prevent the suffering of those he cares about as well as strangers. Much like his mother he is willing to look at those deemed 'evil' and try to see the good inside of everyone, even if it might be hard to do at times, such as with Bellatrix, who killed his godfather. Yet, he will try to 'redeem' those who are 'evil' before he attacks. He is very much a pacifist but he will fight if the situation demands it, but he will do whatever he can to avoid fighting. HISTORY Young baby Harry was born to two amazing wizards: James and Lily Potter. However, as destiny would have it, when he was a year old, his father died allowing his mother to escape with him and hid from Voldemort effectively after that. Of course, that led to the famous Neville Longbottom surviving a killing curse. In some ways, Harry feels guilty as he is the reason Neville lost his parents, but also grateful since Sirius Black was nearly falsely imprisoned but due to his mother's survival, Peter Pettigrew was accused, though he escaped. Along with that Harry grew up with a loving mother and two of his father's friends helping her raise him - Remus Lupin and Sirius Black. He was a handful of a child and seemed to learn a lot from Sirius. When he turned 11, Sirius gifted him his father's invisibility cloak, and soon Harry went off to Hogwarts. He waved to Lily, Remus, and Sirius as he left. There he met Neville Longbottom and, of course, Harry befriended him, because not only did they share a bit of their past, but Neville was famous! He was quickly sorted into Gryffindor almost immediately, and of course Neville was sorted into Gryffindor with him as well. Throughout the year, Harry made a name for himself as the 'Next Generation Weasley Twins' as he would get into trouble all the time. Though, he wasn't quite sure why Severus Snape seemed to treat him a bit better than the other Gryffindors. Maybe it was because he was a cool kid! Or because he was in love with his mother... awkward. Either way, together Neville and Harry managed to secure the philosopher's stone, though Harry had to turn back at Snape's potion puzzle and Neville had to go in alone. Slytherin won the house cup that year unfortunately for them. In his second year, the chamber of secrets was opened and it turned out Ron Weasley's sister had been possessed by a diary. Sadly, Harry had been petrified by the basilisk trying to save Hermione Granger from it - though in the end they both were petrified during his attempt. Luckily after the defeat of the snake, they were able to cure those who had been petrified. In his third year, Bellatrix Lestrange escaped from Azkaban, the one who handed Neville's parents to Voldemort when he was a baby. Dementors came to the school and for some reason really liked Neville and Harry specifically. Probably because of the whole Voldemort thing in their past that tied them together. However, both Sirius and Remus had come to teach at Hogwarts, Sirius taking over for Flitwick while he took a vacation for just the year, and Remus taking over the Defense Against the Dark Arts. As it turned out, Sirius had insisted on coming with Remus because he was... well, a werewolf and Sirius, an animagus (unregistered still). In the end they found Bellatrix and uncovered Peter Pettigrew living as Scabbers, the Weasley family rat, but because of the lycanthropy of Remus, the two were able to escape while they were distracted. Sadly, the dementors seemed to mistake Sirius as a threat. With some wibbly wobby timey wimey things, Harry and the others managed to save Sirius from getting his soul sucked out by hungry dementors, Remus from killing anyone, Buckbeak from execution, and weren't even caught. In their fourth year, Harry was named as the Hogwarts Champion despite not being old enough, much to the school's dismay and his friend, Neville as a fourth champion. They worked together to get through the trials and at the end of the third task, they both made it to the cup. They were both in a graveyard, but Harry had hit his head against a tomb and those there didn't notice him - though Neville of course knew he was there. When Harry woke up, Peter was doing the resurrection potion, but his wand was far away and he couldn't do anything yet. He waited and watched Voldemort come back, and eventually Neville and Voldemort's wands connected and Harry seized the chance, grabbing his wand, only pausing when he saw his father emerge from Voldemort's wand. Since there was a duel in progress and well, Harry wasn't interfering, the Death Eaters simply let him watch - as it was not to be interrupted, and a duel with Harry could lead to disruptions. After a short time of hesitation, Harry ran to Neville, forcing the connection to be broken and using the cup to transport back. Sadly, no one seemed to believe the two boys when they said he was back. Neville was taken by Moody, and Harry stayed to try to explain to everyone, but then he noticed Neville was gone and they went after him. Fifth year rolled around, and since the Ministry was saying they were just 'traumatized by the tournament meant only for adult wizards', no one seemed to believe that Voldemort was back. So Umbridge came. And well, Harry, being the prankster he was, had a lot of troubles with her, losing literally every point to Gryffindor as well as the Quidditch team had been disbanded for that year. Harry also helped form Dumbledore's Army. However, at the end of the year, Neville saw Sirius being tortured, and Harry hightailed it to the Ministry and well, Sirius ended up dying and passing through the veil. Now this year, with many witnesses to Voldemort in the ministry where Sirius was killed, people believe them now! And that's great, but now Harry is dealing with the grief of losing Sirius, though he still has his mother and Remus who also raised him to help him through these times. Well if Remus didn't run off to live with werewolves for the ministry that is... |
