Beginning of Term [Group Event]

It's the beginning of the term!  The sorting ceremony took place and each house has several promising first years.  Dumbledore rises from his seat the at front of the entire hall and makes his announcements - introducing Severus Snape as the new DADA professor and Horace Slughorn as the new Potions professor, having come out of retirement.  Things don't seem as bright as they normally do - even last year just after the return of Voldemort and Umbridge's arrival seemed lighter in mood.  Perhaps it was because everyone finally believed that the Dark Lord was back.  Or perhaps it was because people were wondering why Snape was given this job now of all years.

Now, you settle down and the feast commences.  Catch up with old friends, meet some new friends - maybe even mingle with the other houses?  Though that last one might not be the best as some students frown upon the 'disloyalty' they think it shows to go and talk with other houses at the feast.  Maybe there's someone who transferred this year and is in your house - or maybe you just never got the chance to really talk with someone in your year or even other years, after all, the entire house eats together at this point, the years not worried to be separated out.  Maybe you'll meet some new friends, make some new enemies - or just continue on like you had in the previous years!
