| 1981 | Two boys are born at the end of july. James potter is killed by Voldemort buying Lily potter enough time to escape with her baby boy. Afterwards it is said voldemort went to the longbottoms house and killed both parents. given he didn't originally plan to kill them, he gave them a choice - they were purebloods after all, even if blood traitors, but the refused to stand aside and were killed. the boy neville longbottom survived and was sent to an orphanage run by a distant relative who didn't even realize they were related to the young boy. |
| 1991 | Neville longbottom and harry potter and the others from this same time went to hogwarts for the first time. prior to this neville had no idea of his magical side and would simply be punished if he did anything 'odd' at the orphanage. neville and harry were sorted into gryffindor together, though they weren't the best of friends. Neville paired up with harry to secure the sorceror's stone, with harry having to stay behind before the final room with quirrel. Slytherin won the house cup. |
| 1993 | Int their second year, neville longbottom had to prevent the chamber of secrets from killing muggleborns and ended up with the help of some friends (including ron weasley who's sister was taken), closing the chamber, but not without being suspected of being the heir. In their third year bellatrix lestrange escaped from azkaban, a death eater who had given voldemort directions to Neville's place. srius black came to teach alongside his friend (in the place of filius flitwick who took the year off for a vacation), Remus Lupin, and it was found that ron's rat was Peter Pettigrew, known secret keeper to the potters and wanted for quite some time. Eventually Peter and Bellatrix both escaped. |
| 1995 | In their fourth year, Neville was forced to compete in the tri-wizard tournament alongside harry potter, as the cup was rigged to pick harry, despite his young age, to be Hogwarts' champion and neville as a fourth, unknown champion. needless to say the school was unhappy about this. neville and harry made it to the graveyard, where neville was used to help revive voldemort as harry hid watching the events unfold. in the end, harry jumped in using the cup to transport them back. Entering their fifth year, the ministry refused to believe both boys claiming they were suffering PTSD from the tournament as they were too young, and sent dolores umbridge to the school as the DADA professor. at the end of the year, neville thought that harry's god father was captured by voldemort and they went off to the ministry, and Sirius ended up dying. |
